The unfailing promise of God

Written by Christopher Opey Tetteh.

“Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness- in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior” (NIV) Titus 1:1-3

A promise is an allegiance pledged by somebody to his fellow man. We become very happy when our loved ones fulfill their promises to us, but it is worth noting that these promises from people can fail while the promise from God is unfailing and pleasing.

God through His pure and undiluted word has given us certain promises that give us hope and joy. When we want to give up as Christians, our faith is strengthened and renewed through these awesome promises. These unfailing promises of God are:

1. God has promised to graciously accept all repentant sinners through the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:6; Colossians 3:3)

2. God has promised us eternal life (John 5:24) and abundant life (John 10:10) through Christ Jesus. This covers not only our final destination in heaven but also our present Christian service here on earth.

3. We are promised the Holy Spirit to dwell and help us. (John14:16).

All the deceitful promises we hear daily from false religious sectors are not reliable and can't be compared to the promises we have received from our Father in Heaven. Christianity is a reliable religion and has a credible hope for all!
