The transforming ability of God's Word

Written by Douglas Agyapong.

"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."(NIV) II Cor. 3:18

One sure way of transforming one's life in a positive direction is by the continual reading of God's word. The word of God is the mirror that our spirits should wake up to every morning (James 1:23-24). It tells us how unpleasant our images are so we could polish up. The Bible promises that as we continually look into this mirror, our image will gradually transform into the perfect image of God; our goal. In Eph. 5:26, the Bible says that Christ is cleansing the church by “washing with water through the word.” The word of God provides great support as God washes us with Christ’s blood and with baptism.

Lastly, consider James 1:25 which says: But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Dear reader, to help transform your life, I would encourage you to continually meditate on the word of God (Ps. 1:2).
