I don't think I can live without you-so what if?

"…neither our FEARS FOR TODAY NOR OUR WORRIES ABOUT TOMORROW — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love… "(NLT) Romans 8:38b

Bible reading: Romans 8:35-39

Sundays are always interesting and fulfilling when you go to fellowship for the right purpose with a contrite heart. You will be amazed at how your spirit will be lifted and how God is indeed speaking to us through his Son (Word) today- Hebrews 1: 1-2. God’s word indeed is sharper than a two edge sword. This word brings the best out of us and most of the time it leads us to question our souls about the life we have chosen in Christ. Surrendered by his presence, and as He is consecrating His church (us), our deepest fears and cries are brought to bare before him. But the comforting truth is He speaks to our fears and they are calmed with His words.

Last Sunday wasn’t different at all. Having received a message on the “Conversion of Saul”, looking at how Saul of Tarsus persecuted the early church and then just an encounter with JESUS changed the course of his life. I was tempted to ask the pointless question that lurked into my mind after the message: “What if I lost my way in this Journey and betrayed my Lord? What will become of me?” Immediately, my soul was sad and tears filled my eyes as I looked up to heaven and cried unto the LORD. And as sincere as I could be I said “God, I don’t think I can leave without you here on earth or in eternity”.

My prayer then was an affirmation of what Jesus said that no one can snatch his sheep from Him because he knows them and He and the father are one in ensuring that they receive life eternal - John 10: 26-30. And like is the character of our God, He spoke to me in Romans 8: 35 -39.

So dearly beloved in Christ, almost all or some of us have one time been afraid of backsliding and drifting from God. This is the devils plot to cause us to doubt our God and his power in our lives. Romans 5:8 says but God showed us his love that whilst we were STILL SINNERS, Christ died for us; how much more when we have showed sincere interest in serving him now and forever.

His love for us is so immense that if we are truly sincere with him and not deceiving ourselves that we love him; then surely let’s be rest assured because nothing can separate us from his love -not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
