Plea for Exemption

Written by Alhassan Mohammed Sandargo.

"Then Moses said to the Lord, 'O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.' So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said, 'Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.'" (NKJV) Exodus 4:10,14

Many people hesitate or run from God’s love and calling because of fear, self-doubt, or misunderstanding. In Exodus 4:10, Moses tries to avoid God’s mission, feeling unqualified and unworthy. God’s anger was not in rejection but in urging Moses to fulfill his destiny, showing that excuses can’t stop God’s purpose.

People run from God’s love also for fear of failure or change. Yet, God does not give us the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). His love is unconditional and not based on performance. Also, nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:39).

God deserves better than our excuses. His calling is not for our comfort but for His glory. Obedience to God’s will brings not only fulfillment but also blesses those around us (Jeremiah 29:11).

Today, stop running from the call. Trust God, step out in faith, and fulfill the purpose He has for you. The world needs your obedience. God deserves your "yes."
