This is God’s will for you!

Written by Mantebeah Elizabeth Matilda Abena.

"Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."(NLT) 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Every time I study God’s word and hear the phrase “God’s will”, I don’t know if I should be happy or sad. I just cannot put a finger on my feeling towards this phrase. But when I begin to toss it around in my head against whatever circumstance I find myself in; it always becomes an important opportunity to be impressive in my character for God.

His will, my destiny is a concept that is born out of these moments of not knowing what to do but simply putting my trust in God. I do this not knowing whether my circumstance will change. I do it out of reverence for the one who has delivered me out of the darkness and has commanded me to trust him (Psalm 37:5b).

To trust him daily with thankfulness in my heart because I belong to him; and because I do, He wills every challenging circumstance, whether good or bad for my good always.

Beloved, it is hard to be grateful to God when nothing is going as planned. But there is a greater reward for those who dare to do so. As you are counting the days to end this year and to begin a new one; I will entreat you to end the year on a good note: to be thankful to God whatever your situation will be.

I will be thankful to God because I have life to begin a new year and I will be thankful because He has found me worthy to try a new year filled with all possibilities of good things.

I have had the opportunity of experiencing what I call life interrupted. It was not a pleasant experience for me; it didn’t promise me God’s presence; I felt pain in my heart; I doubted for a moment God’s love for me; I questioned how this could be His will. But in the midst of all these; I dared and endeavored to end my day often with these words: “I do not understand this Lord, It’s not very pleasant but I trust you, I am thankful for your love, not my will but your will be done. You know what’s best for me Lord, and you won’t mess up my life”.

Beloved, because you belong to Christ Jesus, ALL things will work out for your good; no matter how long it takes. This is God’s will for you. Trust and Obey. And you will see that His will is for your good indeed. It gives life, health and wealth (3 John 2). May His will be done in our lives as we end this year! Amen.
