Give thanks as much as you ask

“give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (NIV) I Thess 5:18

The story is told of a man who strangely found himself in heaven. As he walked through, he met a group of angels who seemed too busy and occupied. All they did was to keep packaging a whole bunch of rather insipid-looking gifts. He inquired of them and they replied that they were wrapping up the prayers of humans to be sent to the Father.

As he moved on, he encountered another group of angels who were even busier than the earlier group. They barely had time to reply his question. They were packaging answers to people's prayers to be sent on earth.

Then he finally met another team who looked very bored and had almost nothing to do. Once in a while, they would receive one beautiful and sweetly scented gift to be sent to the Father. They spent so much time complaining about how they came to work and sat down the whole period doing very little. Their job was to receive messages of thanksgiving from humans and parcel them for God. They said: "Human beings ask for much, but show less gratitude. And God is always answering prayers, even those which are yet to be said"

The message for today is simple and straightforward: Don’t make heaven a boring place. Give thanks as much as you ask.
