No gain

Written by Douglas Agyapong.

"But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ." (NIV) Phil 3:7

Very often, human beings perform acts of benevolence with the expectations of favours in return later. Some Christians even contribute to church offerings accompanied by the prayer of gaining some favour from God in return.

This practice is biblical (See Luke 6:38) and so I do not condemn. However, I believe that it will be more rewarding to give to God, withholding nothing and expecting nothing in return (also see Luke 6:35).
