Weapons of Satan
“Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything…in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” (NIV) 2 Cor. 2:9, 11
Most developed countries have invested in weaponry that can easily destroy masses of human life and property. Testing of such weapons often brings fear and panic but these weapons are less complex and dangerous compared to those used by Satan against Christians and the Church as a whole. While weapons developed by man are physical, Satan’s weapons are not (Eph. 6:12). They are subtle, deceptive, hard to even recognize and razing down most human lives.
God’s plan for us is to use His Word to train on earth for heavenly glory. Satan, on the other hand, is using false doctrines to confuse many people to lose their way to heaven. Satan is using the broadway of deception to get many souls from God. Ignorance of the Word of God has been the best platform to propagate false doctrines and deceptions to mankind (Hosea 4:6).
Pride goes before destruction (Prov. 16:18) and it’s a great weapon for Satan, especially on people blessed with many physical resources (money, buildings, cars, intelligence). Pride resents being rebuked or questioned and refuses to acknowledge mistakes. Satan is making humanity lose interest in God (apathy). Apathy towards God leads to atrophy (decline, wasting away and degeneration) of human souls.
How can we survive these dangerous weapons employed by Satan? God has given an antidote to the devil’s schemes in His Holy Scripture. We can identify false doctrines by testing all messages with the Light of Scripture and the truth shall set us free (John 8:32). Knowing the scriptures replaces our ignorance with God’s knowledge that will be used to neutralize the weapons of Satan.
The only safe place from the destruction of Satan is to stay under the cover of God. Be humble to subject yourself to the directions of the Most-High God to keep you safe today and evermore. Amen
