Effective Christians
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children," (NKJV) Hos. 4:6
Every individual expects to achieve something they have set for themselves. The target we set is based on many factors including education, age, expenditure, faith, fear, previous experiences, family history and superstition and others.
Adequate knowledge is key to success. Our effectiveness is linked to the application of God's words and the knowledge we have in any area of life (2 Pet. 2:20). Let us invest in knowledge both spiritual and physical and be ready to apply the principles we learn to achieve results.
Have faith in God because it is the foundation of our relationship with the Almighty. Our faith in God is dependent on our knowledge of Him. We can only please God and be acceptable for higher works through faith in God. Our virtues should demonstrate the kind of faith in the God we serve (Heb. 11:1). Our faith in God will lead to virtuous lives that will help you to become courageous, strong, and firm (II Tim 2:1-4).
No shortcut to success. Satan shows us the shortcuts and ineffective means of achieving our goals, but its end is fatal. We are admonished to stand firm. “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.” (1Cor. 15:58).
Christianity is not mediocrity, because God has endowed His children with endless potentials to be effective in all angles of life. Do not hide behind the Christian faith to be lazy and hope miracles will just happen. Faith demands action.
Not having adequate knowledge and understanding will not empower us to face the world and be effective as our Master expect of us. Believe in God, His principles and apply them to be effective. We are not just called to be Christians but to be effective and achieve the best results for our Master in heaven.
