Our heavenly dwelling

Written by Christabel Ofori.

“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know what day your Lord is coming.” (ESV) Matthew 24:42

The thought of heaven is so overwhelming it will be too sad if anyone misses the opportunity to be there. Unfortunately, some people are working hard to miss this fine opportunity to be with our Lord in the most beautiful place one can ever imagine. Oh! How sad!

Making it to heaven requires hard work too. One of the requirements is to live lives worthy to be called a Christian. As Christians, our lives have to resemble the 6 o'clock time on the clock. The long arm of the clock is more active than the shorter one. It is constantly at work so as Christians, our lives should constantly focus on eternity while we dedicate just a little fraction of our lives on our earthly business. We should not be too busy with relationships, work and gathering wealth because in the end it is how we lived our lives for God here on earth is what will matter. So as we go through our day, we should constantly ask ourselves where we wish to spend eternity. 1 John 2:17 tells us that this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave, but anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

We do not know when our dear master and savior Jesus is coming so we should live our lives in a way that when the trumpet sounds today, we will make it to our beautiful home in heaven. Let us all guard our salvation with jealousy for this earth is just a transit.
